Sizing a desk

30 inches of depth fits a monitor at focal distance with keyboard room; 24 works for laptop-first setups. Length is the room's call — 48 in for a compact station, 60 standard, 72 and beyond for dual setups. Standing-desk frames take custom sizes gladly; measure the frame's top-plate span before you set length.

Grain that works

Rift sawn White Oak is the desk-top archetype — straight, calm lines that don't compete with a screen. Edge grain construction adds stiffness for long unsupported spans; pair with C-channel past six feet.

Questions

Will it work with a sit-stand frame?
Yes — most frames accept any rigid top. Check your frame's minimum top size and screw-boss layout, keep thickness at 1 in or more, and the top mounts like any factory one.
Cable grommets?
Cutouts and drilled passages are custom work — send the drawing through the custom path and the shop quotes it with your top.
