Closed, quiet grain, nearly white with a faint cream cast. Where a stain chart used to say ‘natural’, Hard Maple is what it meant — and it is one of the densest boards on the list.
End grain Hard Maple is the classic butcher block: the block faces up, kindest to edge tools, built to be worked on — up to six inches thick.
Pairs with · Stainless, concrete, strong color elsewhere.
