Padauk arrives louder than any board we stock — a vivid, saturated orange-red straight off the mill. Then it does what no other species on the spectrum does on purpose: light mellows the surface over months toward a deep, settled reddish brown.
Spec it knowing both faces — the red is the opening act, the brown is the piece you live with. Very hard, very stable, and the grain stays quiet under all that color.
Pairs with · Black steel, cream plaster, aged leather.
